Sara Stewart Stevens

Sara is the Academic Program Director and Assistant Professor of Practice for the Division of Textiles and Apparel.

The transformational power of sport and fitness is what drew Sara Stevens to Textiles and Apparel. Her journey to teaching began in the women's fitness apparel industry, where she fell in love with garments utilized for physical movement. In this industry, she was a buyer, wholesaler, visual display artist, store manager (and blossoming runner).

Sara completed her M.S. at UT. Since completing this graduate degree, she has been teaching at UT. It is her goal as an educator to continually provide unique learning opportunities and real-time industry collaboration for the TXA students, so as best to prepare them for this ever-morphing industry landscape. The parallel teaching interests of fitness apparel and brand spurred the to creation of Building An Omni-Channel Experience, a one-of-a-kind boutique course in collaboration with athletic apparel industry and brand icon, Nike.
